NFL 2019 Statistically Speaking Fantasy Relevant Stats for Week 6

I wish I could say that things are becoming much clearer, but with Mike Evans having zero receptions, zero yards and zero fantasy points while Will Fuller had 16 targets, 14 receptions for 217 yards, three touchdowns and 53.7 PPR fantasy points…I cannot. It’s a mad…mad…mad fantasy world out there and all we can do is hope that some of that madness lands our way.

In the meantime we can look at the stats and see what is most likely to happen. So week six here is what we got:

Thursday Night Game

NY Giants v New England Patriots

The short week of a Thursday night game make it harder to quantify…but

  1. Giants defense is 28th against the pass yielding an average 279.4 passing yards a game.

  2. Patriots offense is sixth in passing yards averaging 279.2 passing yards a game.

  3. Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is once again in concussion protocol and will most likely miss TNF.

Sunday Matchups

Carolina Panthers v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  1. Buccaneers defense is second against the rush allowing an average of 69.2 rushing yards per game. They have held Alvin Kamara and Todd Gurley under 100 yards. In their week two meeting they held Christian McCaffrey to 37 rushing yards on 16 carries.

  2. In his three games as a starter Kyle Allen has a 66.7% completion rate. On 90 passing attempts he has 60 completions for five touchdowns and zero interceptions. He does have six fumbles and has been sacked eight times.

  3. In their week two meeting Jameis Winston threw for 208 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions.

Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens

  1. Bengals will enter the game 0-5.

  2. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is trending down: last week against the Steelers he was 19-of-28 for 161 yards, 1 touchdown, 3 interceptions, 14 carries for 70 yards and 1 fumble. Week 4 against Cleveland Browns he was 24-of-34 for 247 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 9 carries for 66 yards and one fumble. In the past two weeks he has been sacked 9 times.

  3. The Ravens will enter the game an 11-point favorite.

Seattle Seahawks v Cleveland Browns

  1. Russell Wilson is the number one fantasy quarterback for the first five weeks. He has scored 126.36 fantasy points. (Patrick Mahomes is second 123.34).

  2. The Browns defense is 7th against the pass yielding an average of 206.4 passing yards a game. They are 29th against the run giving up 150.8 rushing yards a game.

  3. After rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns in week four, Browns running back Nick Chubb rushed for 87 yards and zero touchdowns in week five.

New Orleans Saints v Jacksonville Jaguars

  1. The Jaguars enter the game a one-point favorite over the Saints.

  2. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is 3-0 since coming in for injured Drew Brees. Week 5 against the Buccaneers was by far his most productive as a passer. Passing for 314 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

  3. Gardner Minshew II, has a 66.7% passer completion rating. He has thrown for 1279 yards in five games with nine touchdowns and one interception. He has also been sacked 12 times.

Houston Texans v Kansas City Chiefs

  1. This game has the highest over/under coming in at 56.0

  2. Last week against the Colts the Chiefs were held to under 25 points, ending their NFL record 25 game streak of scoring 25 points or more

  3. Deandre Hopkins fantasy points WR25; Will Fuller fantasy points WR11. Hopkins has 31 receptions on 44 targets. Fuller has 28 receptions on 39 targets. Hopkins has 347 yards and two touchdowns. Fuller has 400 yards and three touchdowns. Hopkins has been on the field for 51 offensive snaps. Fuller has been on the field for 50 offensive snaps.

Washington v Miami Dolphins

Philadelphia Eagles v Minnesota Vikings

  1. Eagles defense is 27th against the pass BUT first against the rush allowing only 63.0 rushing yards per game on average.

  2. Vikings offense is 29th in passing yards AND third in rushing yards.

  3. Adam Thielen has 30 targets, 20 receptions with 0 drops and four touchdowns. Stefon Diggs has 23 targets, 16 receptions with 0 drops and one touchdown. Running back Dalvin Cook has been targeted 24 times for 21 receptions with three drops and 0 touchdowns.

Atlanta Falcons v Arizona Cardinals

  1. Game has the second highest over/under at 52.0

  2. Running back Devonta Freeman has not scored a rushing touchdown this season. He is averaging 3.22 yards per carry.

  3. In the match-up of future HOF #11, both Larry Fitzgerald and Julio Jones have been targeted 44 times. Jones has 26 receptions and four touchdowns; Fitzgerald has 29 receptions and two touchdowns.

San Francisco 49ers v Los Angeles Rams

  1. Because of the MNF game no lines have yet be given on this game.

  2. 49ers defense is 2nd against the pass yielding 175.8 yards per game and 5th against the rush giving up 81.8 yards per game.

  3. Rams offense is 2nd in passing yards passing for 317.4 yards per game on average. Cooper Kupp leads the team in targets with 63, followed by Robert Woods with 47 and Brandin Cooks has 34 targets.

Tennessee Titans v Denver Broncos

  1. Broncos secured their first victory of the season last week with a 20-13 win over LA Chargers.

  2. Titans released kicker Cairo Santos after he went 0-4, in field goals in their week five 7-14 loss against the Buffalo Bills.

  3. Marcus Mariota has yet to throw an interception. Joe Flacco has tossed in four interceptions. In a game that predicts to have the lowest point total, coming in with a 39. Over/under.

Dallas Cowboys v NY Jets

  1. If recent history has tells us anything the Cowboys should dominate this match-up. Dak Prescott is phenomenal against struggling teams, this should be a bounce back week for him.

  2. Sam Darnold is expected to play this game.

  3. Le’Veon Bell is averaging 2.9 yards per rushing attempt.

Pittsburgh Steelers v LA Chargers

  1. Steeler look to be without second string quarterback Mason Rudolph as he is in concussion protocol.

  2. Melvin Gordon had 31 yards on 12 carries for a 2.6 average in his week five return.

  3. Austin Ekeler only rushed three times for seven yards, but he was targeted 16 times for 15 receptions and 86 yards.

Monday Night Football

Detroit Lions v Green Bay Packers

  1. This is a battle of first place Packers v second place Lions in NFC North

  2. The Lions defense is 30th against the pass giving up 280.8 yards per game on average.

  3. Davante Adams did not play week five due to a turf toe. He is week to week.
